A letter to all campowners

From Irving Woodland

Date: 8-26-11

Addition information is added to camp owners/contractors doing work around the lake and across from the camps lots.

"Several of the recent construction projects at VB Cove have resulted in unacceptable soil disturbance. As a result all future projects will have the following wording from LURC permission letter".

If this construction is taking place on an additional leased lot across the road from your existing lease the following conditions must be followed:

  • LURC must be consulted before any land is cleared.
  • The lot can only be cleared to a maximum of 10 feet wider then the foot print of your structure. The rest of the lot must remain in its current vegetated state.
  • The 50 foot buffer, next to the road of the additional lot, must remain in its current vegetated state except for where the drive way is located.
  • The structure must be built with in one month of the area being cleared.
  • Functioning erosion control measures must be in place when the area is cleared and must remain in place until the site is fully vegetated.
  • The culvert that is installed must be adequate in size to accommodate the ditch water and be properly installed.
  • Any pipes that are put across the road must be clearly marked and installed so as not to damage the road or impede the ditch. The trench used to cross the pipes must be properly filled in with good gravel.

Congratulations to the new Club 17 board President Don Cyr

Please be advised that there is no dumping of anything other then trees, leaves, and branches at the Violet Pond dump site

As you may have noticed there has been a lot of work done on our roads this year, We as a Club along with Irving have helped pay for these repairs. Our current due structure does not provide enough money for us to continue to maintain our roads. It appears that in our 2012 meeting we will have to decide if we want to increase our dues. Our cost for snowplowing and sanding has doubled in the last 5 years and we do not have any extra money for grading, or doing any repairs on our roads.
